Cape Town – The cast for the highly anticipated Harry Potter sequel stage production, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has just been revealed.
The play will see grown up versions of the much loved characters: Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.
And for the first time Hermonie will be played by a black actress.

35-year-old Noma Dumezweni is set to play Hermonie who is now married to Ron (Paul Thornley).
Dumezweni was born in Swaziland and has local roots with both her parents being South African. She immigrated to the UK with her mother and sister when she was seven years old.
Jamie Parker will star as Harry Potter.

She won an Olivier Award for her role in A Raisin in the Sun.
According to the DailyMail the show that is only set to start late May 2016 has already sold more than a quarter of a million tickets.
The Cursed Child is the eight book in the series and follows after the end of the The Deathly Hallows.
In a post on Pottermore, author J.K. Rowling revealed some of the plot.
Harry is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, “a husband and father of three school-age children”. His youngest son Albus struggles with the ‘weight of a family legacy he never asked for’.
