Report: Weinstein paid $1m to silence model who accused him

New York — A new report says that Harvey Weinstein paid $1m to silence a model who accused him of groping her.

Ambra Battilana Gutierrez told The New Yorker she signed a nondisclosure agreement after prosecutors decided not to charge him.

She says she didn't know at the time that the media mogul had a pattern of sexually harassing and abusing women. But she says she felt pressured to sign the agreement.

Weinstein's attorneys reiterated that he denies engaging in any nonconsensual sexual conduct.

Gutierrez says she was shocked when the 2015 case against him was dropped by prosecutors. She said she thought there was enough evidence.
