Reports: Marvel hires writer for Black Widow flick

Cape Town – Marvel has finally set the wheel in motion for the standalone Black Widow film.

Entertainment Weekly reports that comic book publisher has tapped Jac Schaeffer to write the script.

Schaeffer wrote Nasty Women, a Dirty Rotten Scoundrels remake starring Anne Hathaway.

Variety further reports that Marvel executives met with Scarlett Johansson who plays the character to discuss what they wanted from the writer.

Johansson made her debut as the Black Widow first in 2010 in Iron Man 2

She will make her sixth appearance as the character in the much anticipated Avengers: Infinity War, which is set to be released in April.
