SA EXCLUSIVE: Ben Affleck and Sienna Miller spill the beans on their saucy sex scenes!

On 10 January 2017, Channel24 flew to London to meet the cast of the soon-to-be released crime film, Live by Night. Bronwyn McKay sits down with Ben Affleck and Sienna Miller to find out more about what went on behind-the-scenes of the 1920s gangster flick.

London – It might be snowing outside but inside the luxurious suite of the 5-star Claridges Hotel things are heating up.

Ben Affleck and Sienna Miller, stars of Live by Night, are revealing what it takes to film a sex scene when one of the actors also has to direct it.

Live by Night, based on the Dennis Lehane novel, is set in the prohibition era and follows Joe Coughlin (Affleck) as he enjoys the spoils, thrills, and infamy of being an outlaw. One of those thrills being his love affair with a gangster’s moll, Emma Gould (Miller).

A secret love affair can only mean steamy intimate scenes in hidden places, right?

“On paper I should’ve felt like it would’ve been an uncomfortable thing but Ben is such an easy going person,” Sienna says of her experience working on set with Ben.

He quickly adds: “It’s not really like the thing where you say ‘now put your arm around me… now moan!’”

The two burst out laughing as Ben quips: “That’s what I should’ve done.”

But that’s not all the Hollywood A-listers spoke about. Turns out Sienna’s mother is a South African and Ben’s favourite camera operator just so happens to be a South African guy.

“The greatest camera operator in the world is a South African guy. His name is Colin Anderson. He was the Steadicam operator on this film. I picked up some South African stuff from him.”
