Save the date! The Nutcracker live-action film is coming in 2018

Cape Town – Another classic is getting the Disney live-action treatment. 

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms is set hit the big screen in November 2018.

Based on the ETA Hoffmann's 1816 classic The Nutcracker and the Mouse King the film centres on Clara (Mackenzie Foy, Twilight) who finds a Nutcracker doll among the family's gifts and is charged by her parents to take special care of it.

Mackenzie Foy will play Clara, Keira Knightley the Sugar Plum Fairy, Helen Mirren as Mother Ginger and Misty Copeland as the Ballerina. 

Other cast members include Morgan Freeman, Eugenio Derbez, Miranda Hart and Ellie Bamber.

The film is directed by Lasse Hallström.
