Cape Town – There's a lot to look forward to at the cinema. 

From the Miracle on the Hudson, Ewan McGregor's directorial debut, the return of Bridget Jones and the loveable children's toy the Trolls.

Viral

In this horror thriller a mysterious parasitic virus rapidly spreads through a town. When the virus reaches their home two sisters are faced with an impossible choice: protect each other, or survive the virus.

Bridget Jones's Baby


Renée Zellweger returns as the titular character Bridget Jones.  

After breaking up with Mark Darcy (Firth), Bridget's “happily ever after” hasn’t quite gone according to plan. Fortysomething and single again, she decides to focus on her job as top news producer and surround herself with old friends and new. 

Then her love life takes a turn and Bridget meets a dashing American named Jack (Dempsey), the suitor who is everything Mr. Darcy is not. In an unlikely twist she finds herself pregnant, but with one hitch…she can only be fifty percent sure of the identity of her baby’s father.

Sully

Tom Hanks plays Captain “Sully” Sullenberger in this biopic about the “Miracle on the Hudson”.

On January 15, 2009, Captain Sully glided his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. However, even as Sully was being heralded by the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation skill, an investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his reputation and his career.

Mechanic: Resurrection

Jason Statham returns as the Arthur Bishop the Mechanic in the sequel to the 2011 action thriller.

When the deceitful actions of a cunning but beautiful woman (Jessica Alba) force him to return to the life he left behind, Bishop’s life is once again in danger as he has to complete an impossible list of assassinations of the most dangerous men in the world.

American Pastoral

Ewan McGregor makes his directorial debut in the film adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Phillip Roth.

McGregor also stars as Seymour “Swede” Levov, a once legendary high school athlete who is now a successful businessman married to Dawn, a former beauty queen. But turmoil brews beneath the polished veneer of Swede’s life. When his beloved teenage daughter, Merry, disappears after being accused of committing a violent act, Swede dedicates himself to finding her and reuniting his family.

Ouija: Origin of Evil

This terrifying new tale is the follow-up to the 2014 box office hit. 

In 1965 Los Angeles, a widowed mother and her two daughters add a new stunt to bolster their séance scam business and unwittingly invite authentic evil into their home. When the youngest daughter is overtaken by the merciless spirit, this small family confronts unthinkable fears to save her and send her possessor back to the other side.

Trolls

The film tells the story behind the beloved Trolls and their gravity defying and colourful manes. Setting out on an epic adventure that takes Poppy and Branch far beyond the only world they have ever known, their quest will test their strength and reveal their true colours.

It stars the voice talent of Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Russell Brand, James Corden, Kunal Nayyar, Ron Funches, Icona Pop, Gwen Stefani and many more.
