Cape Town – Sophie Turner is lit on the cover of the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine.
The Game of Thrones star returns as Jean Grey in X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
In the first look edition of the magazine we get a closer look at her character in the new instalment of the X-Men franchise.
Nine years after the events of X-Men: Apocalypse, the X-Men are pursuing more difficult missions. While in space, a solar flare threatens the team, prompting Jean Grey to save them. The strain, however, unleashes a malevolent force, the Dark Phoenix, forcing the X-Men to fight their powerful friend and ally.

Speaking to the publication about her role, Sophie said she studied multiple personality disorders and schizophrenia to take on the dual personalities of Jean Grey.
“So many scenes I have to go from broken-down Jean — that’s when she's most susceptible to Phoenix infiltrating her — to this confident, arrogant, judgmental character within milliseconds,” says Sophie.
A sneak peek of Jennifer Lawrence who returns as Mystique is also featured.
Other films featured in the first look edition are: Oceans Eight, Acquaman, A Star is Born, Life of the Party and the young adult drama Every Day.
