Stuntwoman injured on the set of Resident Evil shares her difficult road to recovery

Cape Town – The South African born stuntwoman, Olivia Jackson, who was injured in a horrific accident on the set of Resident Evil is on the road to recovery.

Olivia sustained multiple injuries when she "collided with a camera crane while performing a motorcycle stunt" during filming in Johannesburg.

She suffered serious injuries to her face, head and shoulder, and her left arm was amputated as a result of the accident. 

Olivia has shared pictures of her recovery on Instagram.

In one picture she reveals that her spine is twisted, she a has a twisted shoulder blade, a permanently dislocated shoulder, and muscle atrophy.

In earlier posts she detailed her difficult journey from learning to walk again to having her arm amputated.

Olivia was a stuntwoman for actress Milla Jovovich in the action film Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. She also performed stunts for the movies Mad Max: Fury Road and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter releases in cinemas on Friday, 3 February.
