Terry Pheto bags international award nomination

Cape Town – South African actress Terry Pheto has been nominated for a British Independent Film Award (BIFA) for her role in A United Kingdom.

She will go up against Gemma Arterton, Naomi Harris, Shana Swash and Avin Manshadi in the Best Supporting Actress category.

The film is based on the true story of the sweeping interracial love that shook the British establishment between the first president of Botswana, Sir Seretse Khama and the British woman he loved, Ruth Williams.

Pheto plays Naledi Khama, Serete's sister in the movie.

Overwhelmed by the nomination, Pheto took to Instagram to thank the director for believing in her.
