The latest on A Star is Born remake

Los Angeles - Lady Gaga has been cast in A Star is Born

The 30-year-old Born This Way hitmaker is set to star in Bradley Cooper's directorial debut in the remake of the 1937 production, which will see Clint Eastwood and Jon Peters join forces to produce the drama, according to Deadline website.

Although Lady Gaga - whose real name is Stefani Germanotta - has yet to confirm the deal and accept the lead role in the production, it has been reported the blonde beauty has successfully passed screen tests with executives and is still in talks with Bradley over future plans for the film.

However, it is reported Lady Gaga's character was allegedly planned for the Lemonade singer songwriter Beyoncé.

And there has been growing speculation the American Sniper actor and dark haired heartthrob will not only oversee the production and rewrite the script alongside Will Fetters, but will also star in the film and be cast as the troubled, alcoholic movie star who encourages starlets to achieve their dream, but fails to succeed himself.

Whilst there has yet to be a release date confirmed, it is alleged $30m will be sent on creating the hit blockbuster to rival the three adaptations previously released.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga - who received a Golden Globe Award at this year's star studded bash for her role as hotel owner Elizabeth/ The Countess in the television series American Horror Story: Hotel - is set to reprise her role for the sixth season of the FX horror television series, which was announced in March this year.
