The Rock honoured with Hollywood Walk of Fame star

Los Angeles - Dwayne Johnson is to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Furious 7 star has been selected for the coveted honour alongside the likes of Amy Adams, Goldie Hawn, Chris Pratt and Ryan Reynolds.

Vin Di Bona, chair of the Walk of Fame Selection Committee, said: "The Walk of Fame Selection Committee is thrilled to announce our newest honourees to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Committee looked carefully at each nominee and we feel that we have selected a great group of talent that will appeal to the tastes of many fans around the world.

"As a Walk of Famer myself, I know these honourees will look back at the day of their ceremony and remember it with fond memories shared with family and friends, and of course, the fans. We look forward to their big day as the Walk of Fame Class of 2017 become part of Hollywood history on this famous Walk."

Meanwhile, the 44-year-old actor previously revealed it is his family who inspire him "the most".

The Baywatch actor - who has six-month-old daughter Jasmine with girlfriend Lauren Hashian, and 14-year-old Simone from his marriage to Dany Garcia - posted: "I'm always asked - What inspires YOU? My answer's easy and honest... what inspires me the most is always waitin' for me to walk thru my front door when I come home ...

"One day you [Jasmine] will know just how happy, proud, lucky and blessed you, your sister and your mama make me. You'll also thank me one day for your toughness and your mama's everything else. #HappyBirthdayJas #DaddysLilToughGirl #GratefulMan #Ohana4L. (sic)"
