There's a movie about emojis and this is what it's going to look like

Cape Town – Emojis are making the big jump from our telephone screens to the big screen.

Yes, believe it or not the popular messaging characters are about to star in their own movie.

Sony just released a teaser for The Emoji Movie featuring Meh.

The story centres on Gene (T.J. Miller), an exuberant emoji who was born without a filter and is bursting with multiple expressions. Determined to become “normal” like the other emojis, Gene enlists the help of his handy best friend Hi-5 (James Corden) and the notorious code breaker emoji Jailbreak (Ilana Glazer).

Together, they embark on an “app-venture” through the apps on the phone, each its own wild and fun world, to find the Code that will fix Gene. But they encounter a threat that will danger the fate of all emojis.

The film releases in cinemas in September 2017.
