There's a whole lot of drama surrounding the Sex and the City sequel that's not happening

Cape Town – Grab you're cosmos because there's drama brewing within the ranks of the Sex and the City cast.

Last week Sarah Jessica Parker announced during an interview with Extra TV that it's over and that they will not be doing another movie.

"We had this beautiful, funny, heart-breaking, joyful, very relatable script and story. It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie," said Parker.

Hot on the heels of Parker's comments the Daily Mail reported that the reason why the film had been canned was because Kim Cattrall who plays Samantha Jones had made outrageous demands.

According to the Daily Mail, Cattrall wanted the studio to first produce other projects she had in development before she signed on to do the third film.

Cattrall responded to the Mail's story on Twitter saying "The only demand I ever made was that I didn't want to do a 3rd film....& that was back in 2016."

Fellow actor Willie Garson who played Stanford Blatch waded into the conversation. In a now deleted tweet he implied that the Daily Mail's article was spot on and that "sadly the reasons are true."

Meanwhile back on Cattrall's Twitter feed fans came out in support of her.

But it didn't end there Kristen Davis who played Charlotte also added her two cents.

She shared a picture of her in character on Instagram. She wrote: "It is deeply frustrating not to able to share that chapter (beautifully written by MPK) with all of you." (sic)
