WATCH: Carrie Fisher’s original Star Wars audition tape

Cape Town – Carrie Fisher’s Star Wars audition tape resurfaced on Tuesday after news broke of the veteran actress' death.

In the three-and-a-half minute black and white clip, a 19-year-old Fisher is seen with a young Harrison Ford – who went on to take the role of Han Solo – audition for Princess Leia.

They act out a scene in which Leia reveals the Rebellion’s plan to destroy the Death Star, which appears halfway through the film.

Earlier this year the Star Wars actress revealed she and her co-star Harrison Ford weren’t just lovers onscreen in the making of the franchise film.  In her new memoir, The Princess Diarist, Fisher recalls the intense love affair she had with the now 74-year-old actor.

Fisher died in an LA hospital four days after suffering a massive heart attack on an aeroplane from London to LAX. She was 60.
