London - Actress Keira Knightley on Thursday received an OBE for her services to drama and charity at Buckingham Palace.
An OBE is a Queen's honour given to an individual for a major local role in the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the Civil service. OBE stands for Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
