Cape Town – Nicole Kidman braves the desert and fends off suitors in her new flick, Queen of the Desert.
The biopic is based on the life of British traveller, writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer and political officer Gertrude Bell.
Somewhat bored with life in Britian in the early 20th century free spirited and adventurous Bell escapes to the Middle East.
And while she's out there making her mark in history her life is not devoid of romantic entanglements.
There's Henry Cadogan (James Franco) an embassy secretary who seduces Bell and insists they belong together.
Charles Doughty-Wylie (Damian Lewis) also makes a play for her but 'her heart is not ready.'
And also on her travels she crosses paths with a very flirtatious T.E. Lawrence aka Lawrence of Arabia (Robert Pattinson).
