WATCH: Pixar's new film is a colourful celebration of family

Cape Town – The official trailer for Disney/Pixar's new movie Coco has just been released.

The film has been described as a love letter to Mexico and has made history with its all Latino voice cast.

The story centres on Miguel (Anthony Gonzalez), a young boy who dreams of becoming a musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (Benjamin Bratt).

But one thing stands in his way, his family's generational ban on music.

Miguel finds himself in the Land of the Dead where he meets trickster Hector (Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.

The film is set to release in SA on Friday, 24 November.
