Cape Town – In Rihanna's latest outing on the big screen she stars in Luc Besson's sci-adventure Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
The singer plays Bubbles a shapeshifting entertainer.
While her role is largely mysterious it is easy to see the popstar was Besson's first choice for the role. (Read more here.)

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets follows two special operatives charged with keeping order throughout the human territories.
Valerian (Dane Dehaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevinge) undertake a mission to Alpha to safeguard the universe.
The film can be seen in 3D and 4DX in cinemas nationwide on Friday, 21 July.
