WATCH: The Academy pokes fun at itself in new Oscars promo

Cape Town – The Academy is ushering in awards season with a new Oscars promo. 

The clip features some of the years most memorable movies such as Wonder Wonder, Girls Trip, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Get Out and Mudbound to name a few. 

The teaser promises “better thrills”, “better chills” and “bigger moments and better surprises”.

The Academy is not afraid to laugh at itself as the focal point of the preview is this year’s notorious flub when Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway incorrectly announced La La Land as the best picture winner.

The awards ceremony will be hosted again by Jimmy Kimmel on Sunday, 4 March and will broadcast a half hour earlier than usual.
