WATCH: Tom Hardy gets into fighting shape for new role

Cape Town – Tom Hardy is getting into fighting shape for his new role. 

The Dunkirk actor will star in the Spider-Man spin-off Venom in which he will play one of Spider-Man's most iconic villians. 

To prepare for the role Hardy is training MMA style.

According to Esquire he is training up to five times a week.

Filming of the movie is currently underway in Atlanta. The film's official Twitter account shared pics of the actor on set.

Other cast members include: Riz Ahmed, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, and Scott Haze.

The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer and is scheduled to be released in October 2018.
