Cape Town – Oliver Hemanus made history last year when his film The Endless River was selected as the first ever South African film to compete for the top prize "The Golden Lion" award at the Venice International Film Festival.
Lead actress and former Pasella presenter Crystal-Donna Roberts competed for best actress.
Set in the small town of Riviersonderend in the Overberg region, the human drama tells the story of a French expatriate and a small town waitress, Tiny (Roberts) who form an unlikely bond after the brutal murder of his family on a farm.
We sat down with Crystal to talk about her role in the gripping drama and what it was like walking the red carpet in Venice.
