Willem Dafoe to play a good guy in Justice League Part One

Los Angeles - Willem Dafoe has joined the cast of Justice League Part One

The 60-year-old actor will be taking on a role as an unknown "good guy", according to The Hollywood Reporter, in the Zack Snyder directed film set in the DC Comics Extended Universe.

Dafoe has comic book pedigree having previously played Norman Osborn and his villainous alter ego Green Goblin Sam Raimi's first Spider-Man film in 2002.
His casting follows on from the news J. K. Simmons will be portraying Batman's Gotham Police ally Commissioner James Gordon.

The pair will be joined in the movie by Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg as the superhero squad is formed.

Chris Terrio wrote the screenplay for Warner Bros. film Justice League Part One, which will be released in November 2017.

A sequel is scheduled to come out in June 2019.

Production for the first movie began last week.
