Catch 44
What it's about:

For Tes (Malin Akerman) and her two cohorts Kara (Nikki Reed) and Tara (Deborah Ann Woll), the job sounded simple enough: intercept a double-cross drug shipment for their crime boss Mel (Bruce Willis) at an isolated diner. But when an unstoppable chain of events unfolds, everyone soon realizes no one is who they seem and the job may be something other than eliminating the competition. What started as simple instructions has now turned into a deadly cat-and-mouse game - with large guns pointed at everyone.

What the critics thought:

"A drug-deal tale featuring top-drawer actors trying to have fun with a medium-strength script. Sometimes they succeed, but not often enough to elevate the film to Pulp Fiction territory."
- Neil Genzlinger, New York Times

"Although it gives Bruce Willis and Forest Whitaker an off-road chance to show off their character-actor chops, there's not much to recommend in this cinematic conceit."
- Duane Byrge, Hollywood Reporter

Hands of Stone is a bland, unlikable portrayal of a real-life boxer that struggles to hit the highs of Rocky IV let alone Raging Bull or the original Rocky. Mark this one down as “for boxing fanatics only”. Read More »
