What it's about:

Four men, one calling: To serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, they are confident and focused, standing up to the worst the streets can offer. Yet, at the end of the day, they face a challenge they're ill prepared to tackle: fatherhood. When tragedy strikes home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering.

Protecting the streets is second nature to these law enforcement officers. Raising their children in a god-honouring way? That takes courage.

What the critics thought:

"The many topics raised - gangs, drugs, immigration, absentee parents, poverty - are examined with didacticism and platitudes instead of by mining their inherent complexities." - Gary Goldstein, Los Angeles Times

"Like a pastor so caught up in the moment that he can't see that the air conditioning has given out and the congregation wants to go home, the film travels far beyond its dramatic climax, aiming for an altar call finale." - Roger Moore, Orlando Sentinel

"Devolves into over-the-top drama and a suffocating heavy-handedness." - Keith Staskiewicz, Entertainment Weekly

Honour begins at home.

Brilliant movie, two stars, get real, look at the box office and reader reviews, anything religious (Christian) and the critics tear it to pieces. But give us Julia Roberts, who I love by the way, in some stupid Buddhist movie and they all go ga ga.
