A deadly virus has been unleashed on the population of Raccoon City, turning its citizens into killer zombies. Milla Jovovich returns as Alice, one of only two survivors of the contained biochemical disaster in the first Resident Evil movie.
"Apocalypse" begins where the first film left off, with Alice in the heart of the ravaged and deadly Raccoon City. She has been subjected to biogenetic experimentation by the vast Umbrella Corporation and now possesses super-human strengths, senses and dexterity. These skills, and more, will be needed if anyone is to remain alive.
Alice is joined by a motley crew of soldiers, security guards and civilians who must band together to survive and escape what is quickly becoming a City of the Dead.
To reach their goal, they will need to battle their way through the relentless onslaught of the ravenous undead, as well as Umbrella forces and terrifying bioengineered weapons, the most deadly of which is the colossal, heavily armed assassin, Nemesis.
What the critics are saying:
"Devoted fans of the videogame might drain some enjoyment from this cynical, depressing exercise. Most others will find it akin to spending days watching someone suck at PlayStation."- Nev Pierce, BBCi Film"If you are in the mood for leggy heroines blasting down zombie armies with absurdly large automatic weapons, the sequel to Resident Evil gives very good value for the money."- Dave Kehr, The New York Times"A film without interest, wit, imagination or even entertaining violence and special effects."- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
