What it's about:
Three scouts and lifelong friends join forces with one badass cocktail waitress to become the world’s most unlikely team of heroes. When their peaceful town is ravaged by a zombie invasion, they’ll fight for the badge of a lifetime and put their scouting skills to the test to save mankind from the undead.
What we thought:
Zombies are so on trend right now.
From Walking Dead to World War Z to Facebook timelines filled with blood drenched Halloween costumes – everyone’s getting in on the undead coolness.
That’s why Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse is right on point.
Only these zombies are the kind you can take selfies with and then post on Instagram later should you survive the night of the living dead. (See what I did there?)
Also Scouts Guide has got a stripper zombie, a sexy girl cop zombie and even zombie boobies.
If none of the above seem appealing to you and it felt like reading the words made your eyes bleed – well then you’re either a zombie or you should just stay far away from this quirky cinematic experience.
Director Christopher Landon’s zombie flick is mostly aimed at a younger male audience and centres around three scouts that discover the true meaning of friendship when they attempt to save their town from a zombie outbreak.
It’s got lots of brains being blown out, tons of dirty jokes and a shit load of LOL moments. Don’t even get me started on the scene with the penis and the trampoline! WTF, dude?!
This is no Jane Austen novel so don’t expect to find a classic love story here either. (See? Just did it again.)
But of course, like any other good teen movie, the cast all make for great eye candy and tons of viewing pleasure.
The three leads in the film - Tye Sheridan, Logan Miller and Joey Morgan – are a delightful trio to watch as they fight off zombies to safe the hot girls they are crushing on.
Scouts Guide is an awesome zombie flick that doesn’t take itself too seriously and is great fun to watch – but probably not if you’re like an old person without a sense of humour.
I rate this one 3 zombie heads out of 5.
Just another typical Tom Cruise action film, with nothing to get too excited about. The film is loaded with action-film stereotypes and cheesy one-liners. Read More »

Hands of Stone is a bland, unlikable portrayal of a real-life boxer that struggles to hit the highs of Rocky IV let alone Raging Bull or the original Rocky. Mark this one down as “for boxing fanatics only”. Read More »
