Synopsis:
Loki, Norse god of mischief, is on a quest to recover the enchanted mask that caused Jim Carey so much trouble in 1995's "The Mask". But, before Loki can recover it, an unwitting young husband (Jamie Kennedy) dons the mask and, while under its influence, impregnates his wife. The resulting child has all the powers of the mask and proceeds to make his father's life as difficult as possible.
What the critics are saying:
"Son of the Mask is an irredeemable mess, a computer-animated Punch and Judy show without wit, heart or a single memorable performance."
- Dana Stevens, New York Times
"What we basically have here is a license for the filmmakers to do whatever they want to do with the special effects, while the plot, like Wile E. Coyote, keeps running into the wall."
- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
"Jim Carrey doesn't go anywhere near this follow-up to his 1994 blockbuster, and neither should viewers."
- Jeff Strickler, Minneapolis Star Tribune
