The 11th Hour

What it's about:

Co-writer, co-producer and narrator Leonardo DiCaprio guides us through a variety of perspectives dealing with the Earth's poor state of health. Along the way, more than 50 interviewees offer their opinions on the subject; including super-brain Stephen Hawking, former Russian president Mikhail Gorbachev and Nobel Prize-winner Wangari Maathai.

What we thought of it:

Debut sibling directors Leila Conners Petersen and Nadia Conners have joined forces with DiCaprio to produce a scintillating eco-doccie, which serves as an ideal companion piece to Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth.

While Gore's film provided similar facts, The 11th Hour also tosses in some tips to help each one of us contribute in our own small way to fighting looming global eco-disasters. Certainly some critics will scream that this is DiCaprio's attempt to cash in on a global problem; yet, for all its worth, he deserves a pat on the back for immersing himself in his self-declared mission of spreading the urgency of our eco-crisis. Good job Leo.
