What it's about:

Jason Bourne, the CIA's most lethal former operative who went underground, is drawn out of the shadows. Several years after his mysterious disappearance, the trained killer now completely aware of who he is, wrestles with the consequences of his identity as he tracks down a colleague and starts to uncover hidden truths about his past.

What we thought:

Matt Damon is like a good bottle of wine. He's really just getting better with age. Which, of course, can only mean good things for the Bourne franchise.

We know from previous experience that a Bourne flick without Matt is just not going to cut it. So it's absolutely thrilling to see the notorious anti-hero back in the driver's seat and boy what a ride it is!

You better buckle up and hold on tight because this action-packed film series just got turbocharged.

Jason Bourne is all the action of the previous films rolled into one super-mega flick. It takes off quickly and doesn't waste time at all to get the story back on track. It's faster, sexier and meaner than ever before.

It flows quickly from one setup to the next and gets right to the point. It's undoubtedly the thrill-per-minute entertainment we all want while munching on our popcorn and cheering the moody bad boy protagonist along.

The undeniable highlight of the film is its climatic ending that plays off in the streets of the infamous Sin City.

It just so happened that I was recently in Las Vegas and spoke to a staff member at Aria hotel that was on set during filming of the epic scene. No special effects or green screens were used. What you see on the big screen is old school stunts playing off in real life - giving the film an uber-authentic feel despite the dramatic ending being completely over the top.

If you want action, devastation and no-bullshit skop-skiet-en-donner...well you've come to the right place. Bourne is all your wishes come true.

Yes, there's a storyline and some good acting but that's not why you go to the cinema to watch Jason Bourne. You pay for the ticket because you want to see the adrenaline rushing car chases, spectacular crashes and gigantic explosions. So be assured it's there. Bundled between all the other good stuff.

Add to that epic locations and a clearly mega-production budget and the magic simply happens right in front of your eyes.

Was it really necessary to make another Bourne? Some would argue no. But screw them. It's fucking great to have Bourne back, kicking ass like in the good ol' days.
