Brandy and Ray J - A Family Business OST

2011-07-05 10:35

Brandy and her brother, Ray J have been in the music industry for many years. They have both earned respect in the industry, even though it is quite clear that Brandy has achieved  more success than her brother.

Last year, the siblings teamed up to do a reality show titled Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business. They - along with a number of friends and collaborators - have also released an album with the same name.

With the many years of experience this family has in the music industry, one would have hoped to listen to a beautiful album.

This 11-track album is a bit disappointing, with only about three nice songs. The album lacks creativity and most of the songs are a bit boring.

One highlight is "Talk to Me", which Brandy and Ray J sing with their father about their relationship with and how much he means to them.

But as for the rest, it feels like they didn’t put in as much effort. Even other guest artists in the album but that  don’t help much. In order for you to stay on top of your game you must produce good music and give your supporters what they deserve.  Family Business is lazy and bland.

Tracklisting:

1 – Family Business (aka Family Business Theme) – Brandy, Ray J, Willie and Sonja Norwood
2 – Turnin’ Me On – Ray J
3 – Talk To Me – Brandy, Ray J and Willie Norwood Sr.
4 – My Family – Sy’rai & Rain Smith
5 – Lifeguard – Brandy
6 – Ready to Roll – Ray J featuring TKO
7 – Sonja, Sonia, Sonya – Willie Norwood Sr.
8 – Gone – Tosha Scott
9 – I Don’t Care – Brandy
10 – Home Grown – Willie Norwood Sr.
11 – Epilogue – Sonja Norwood

It just feels like they didn’t put in all that much effort.
