Jamiroquai - Rock Dust Light Star

Wasn't it just a few months ago when there were rumours that Jamiroquai would be saying goodbye to fans forever?

Well, the release of their eighth album, Rock Dust Light Star has shut those rumours up and has so far had fans in raptures.

Jamiroquai faced heavy criticism for "losing" their sound after A Funk Odyssey in 2001, but the British jazz funk band has still managed to sell over 25 million albums to date and garner fans the world over.

With Rock Dust Light Star the Jamiroquai crew brings back its much loved sexy jazz sound, with lead man Jay Kay giving his cool vocals and leaving many still wondering whether this is indeed a band or just a one man show.

So far, the singles "White Knuckle Ride", "Blue Skies" and "Lifeline" have been released from the album.  "White Knuckle Ride" has been very successful on music charts across Europe and South Africa, allowing fans to be taken back into an era of 70's ultra-cool boogey nights with the song's subtle jazz and funky dance sound.

With Kay again showcasing his writing talent on all the tracks, Jamiroquai can certainly be hailed as one of the best funky jazz bands to come out of the overrated pop era of the 90s.

Rock Dust Light Star is undeniably an album to include in your Jamiroquai collection of celebrated cool jazz dance sounds.
