Jeremy Loops - Trading Change

accreditation
What we thought:

Loops took the country by storm at Rocking the Daisies in 2012 and has been rocking it ever since. His name says it all, producing music by use of a very cool piece of machinery called a loop pedal. On stage Loops is a one man band and has had a diverse spread of talent join in to bring fresh sound to his music.

Very well produced, Jeremy Loops brings a unique sound to local music with his new album Trading Change. The tracks are different and each has their own unique sound, but with a similar theme. A heartfelt tune for the blue days as well as the happy allows the album to bring a diverse sound for almost anyone.

His latest hits "Power" and "Mission to the Sun" have ignited South Africans to appreciate a modern take on folk. It is the new and upcoming trend #awesome.

Constantly out and about the Capetonian always has a gig whether in Jo’burg or Cape Town, a live show you would not want to miss!

Best Track:
It’s very difficult to pin it on a single track as they are all great, however, "Down South" is definitely worth a mention.

Worst Track:
Worst of the best is "Running Away" and this is only because the melody doesn’t flow as smoothly as the others with more pauses and less singing.

Sounds like:
It is fresh, new, crazy folk. Everything that you thought folk was should be set aside; this album shows what modern folk music is made of. It sounds like a lonely walk on a warmsummer’s day followed by a get-together with your mates on a Saturday afternoon. It’s very chilled but also have a couple of beats to get the body moving.
