Lisa Scott-Lee - Never or Now

2007-06-06 11:52
Lisa Scott-Lee has sadly tumbled from her musical pedestal after making history as a member of one of the UK's best selling pop groups of all time, Steps.

Taking four years to release her debut solo album and being dropped by two record labels should have been a sign for this Welsh lass.

There's a reason Ms Scott-Lee won Naomi Awards for Worst British Female Solo Artist, Worst Pop Act and Worst British Single ("Electric"). No one should be tortured into listening to the full 48 minutes of pure garbage Never or Now has to offer. It's non-stop Europop that would close any gay club faster than a sharpened stiletto on a greased catwalk.

If you're really in the market for dance-pop rather get yourself Kylie Minogue's Showgirl Homecoming or Madge's Confessions on a Dancefloor.

However, if you do find yourself having committed the unfortunate crime against music of actually buying this album, please don't fool yourself into thinking that it's "not THAT bad". It is!

* On the upside, Lisa Scott-Lee does make for good eye-candy. Boys, do yourselves a favour and check out her music videos.

Never or Now? Lisa Scott-Lee's debut solo album should rather have been called Never Ever in a Million Years... Ever!

NEVER OR NOW Lisa's first solo album is a real mixuture. Sartingthe proceeds with the catchy disco pop 'LATELY' charting at no6 when released, it continues to the neat pop top 15 hit ELECTRIC, the song screams sex! moving into soem pure dance/pop tunes like the underground fav Obscenely Delicious, before taking a rather unexpected turn into a rock ballad section, which shows off Miss Scott-Lee's vocals off to their best, and are very mature , then finishing off with the fantastic 'NEVER OR NOW' which should be released! its a sure fire hit. Neatly produced and a nice selection of pop / dance and pop-rock. If you don't start busting moves out in your bedroom whilst getting ready to go out, i'd be very surprised!!

How dare you say this about Lisa's album!!!! Lisa may have taken her time in getting this album together but there have been hurdles along the way. Lisa makes pure pop at its best (she should know after being in Steps for 5 years). There are many people who will love this album who have been crying out for another member of Steps to release a solo record (H&Claire's 'Another you, Another me' is a fantastic collection of songs on a album which for some reason did not get anywhere in the charts eventhough they had 3 top 10 singles previously - in my opinion it is pure class and the vocals of Claire are to die for). Lisa has worked hard and kept going when most people would have given up. She has worked with some of the best producers and her fans will enjoy this record whether they get it by download or are able to buy a copy. The comments your reviewer make are a disgrace (have they actually listened to the album or just making assumptions because they think it will be crap). Pop music is needed back in the charts like it wa
