How do you fault an album that's made entirely out of hits? Especially when said album illustrates just how musically diverse the artist in question is.
That is exactly what the nineteen tracks on this album do. They show, quite simply, how far P!nk (real name Alecia Beth Moore) has come in her musical career, which so far spans just over a decade.
The RnB undercurrent that ran through her first and second single "There You Go" and "You Make Me Sick" respectively, took a hike after she thankfully broke away from LaFace Records in 2001.
Subsequently, "Don't Let Me Get Me", "Just Like a Pill" and club anthem "Get The Party Started", were the result of Pink's new image, as she shredded any previous personae that may have been reserved for her as a RnB starlet/pop-tart princess – a crime that Mickey Mouse still hasn't been charged for initiating.
Pink's forte is her ability to take the piss out of others (and herself) and then do a 180º lyrically, exposing her vulnerable side. She does this effectively on tracks like "Dear Mr. President" (featuring Indigo Girls) and "Sober".
Pink's ballads are proof of how she is the master of wearing her rhythmically poignant heart on her sleeve, and it's this chameleon-like ability that makes her such a consummate artist.
High points on this album include current single "Raise Your Glass", a track that earned Pink her second ever Billboard #1, along with the angsty "So What" – which was inspired by the brief separation in 2008 from her delicious husband, Carey Hart.
The album is confirmation that Pink has built her whole career on breaking the mould. And why the hell not? In an era of Katys and Taylors, mainstream pop is in desperate need of an alpha female who'll fly the flag for those slightly awkward and out of place. By the looks of things on this retrospective, Pink was and still is more than happy to oblige.
