Switchfoot - Nothing is Sound

2006-03-30 12:06

Switchfoot joined the mainstream in the US with their two million-selling album The Beautiful Letdown (2003).

On Nothing is Sound, they seem intent on continuing the climb. While the straight rock tracks are ho-hum, more layered efforts like "Happy is a Yuppie Word", and "The Shadow proves the Sunshine" jump out on first listen, somehow demonstrating a U2 influence more than any other - which is quite extraordinary for an American rock band.

Still not convinced? Included is a DVD which features a documentary and the whole album mixed in 5:1 surround sound by legendary Bob Clearmountain, Chris Lord-Alge and others.

Band of brothers - or founded by brothers at least - Switchfoot were formed in San Diego, California and after finding themselves a drummer, they recorded their first album in 1997.
