What we thought:
Usher has joined the bandwagon of the upbeat and semi-house music sound that has made David Guetta a crowd puller.
It is a pity then that he has failed to deliver the same type of quality tunes as the French maestro. Usher's latest release is a failed attempt at mixing up-tempo beats with silky RnB vocals. Others have tried and failed using the same formula to sell albums.
There is nothing wrong with artists experimenting with different sounds. The problem is when they release full experimental albums and expect people to spend their hard-earned cash to buy untested material. I would not do it and many people won't do it.
Best track:
Again... It is hard to choose the best track in an otherwise underwhelming album but Twisted featuring Pharell might offer a redeeming light to the album.
Worst track:
It is hard to choose the worst track... there are so many... but maybe I Care For U is the right one in this case.
Sounds like:
The album sounds like any of the many David Guetta songs with Usher's voice barely audible in the background. Try, at your own risk, Lil Wayne's Rebirth to get the same feel as this album.
