Dan Patlansky Live

2012-01-17 16:40

The Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens are about to be bathed in the soulful sounds of blues-rock guitar legend, Dan Patlansky.  Dan will headline the Summer Sunset Concert on the 22nd of January 2012.

Dan Patlansky is a conglomerate of charisma, charm and musical genius - and all of this comes wrapped up in an unassuming, startlingly attractive package that bespeaks his Judeo-Spanish heritage. There are no airs and graces here – just sincerity and an incredible musical talent.

The ever-humble Patlansky is set to grace the outdoor stage this coming Sunday, the 22nd of January as part of his hotly anticipated new album launch. The new album is titled 20 Stones and Patlansky, in exquisite form on all 10 tracks, perfects his genre…. "I was going for an extremely old school filthy approach on the blues, which I've always wanted to do. I believe we definitely nailed that. Not only did I draw from my love of the blues but also my love of old school rock n roll," he says.

"I am looking forward to performing songs from my new album in the gardens – and I can think of nothing better than performing in front of fans in a setting as beautiful as Kirstenbosch," he explains.

Musical gems

To celebrate Dan's headline debut at Kirstenbosch, not to mention the launch of this incredible album, Dan will be joined on stage by Ross Learmonth, the lead singer of the SAMA-winning, multi-platinum selling rock band, Prime Circle. Learmonth and Dan will be performing the title track from 20 Stones together on the day.

Another superlative talent, Theo Crous (legendary Springbok Nude Girls guitarist and one of SA's top producers), will also join Dan on stage for a few numbers.  Theo was responsible for post-production on 20 Stones which took place at Belville Studios in Cape Town.  Lurssen Mastering in Los Angeles, whose credits include Eric Clapton, Lenny Kravitz and blues maestro B.B. King, handled the mastering of what is surely going to be an iconic production in the South African Music Industry.

Patlansky and his friends are certainly gearing up to throw some musical gems at the audience…

A capacity crowd is expected as Dan Patlansky gets ready to take fans to the edge of blues-rock and back – all within the breath-taking setting of the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens.

The new album 20 Stones will be on sale so be sure to pick up your copy.
