Gig guide: Who's heading to South Africa?

The stages are set in South Africa's biggest cities for some of the most impressive music acts.

A host of international acts are headed for our shores in the next few months.

If you have missed out on some of the announcements, don't worry. We have put together a handy guide filled will all the info you need to know ahead of these massive shows.

Lady Gaga - Born This Way Tour

The moment some die hard Little Monsters have been waiting for ages: Mother Monster performing in South Africa.

With less than two weeks left before her first performance in Johannesburg, fans are already abuzz with Gaga-fever.

Lady Gaga will be supported by special guests British glam rock band The Darkness, best known for their hit I Believe In A Thing Called Love, and her longtime performance partner and DJ, LADY STARLIGHT.

Chris Brown - Carpe Diem Tour


After much speculation following a post from Chris Brown on Facebook in October, it was announced that his Carpe Diem tour will include South Africa.

His tour will mainly focus on songs from his new studio album, Fortune, but fans have been promised a spectacular of a lifetime.

Kanye West - Feel the Beat of Sub-Zero

Multiple-award winning rapper Kanye West is set to jet to our shores next year to perform for one night only.

The event, which will be sponsored by alcohol beverage maker Castle Lite, is said to be scheduled for 2 February, when Kanye will perform to his fans at the Biggest Igloo, Gold Reef City in Johannesburg.

All tickets for the show has been sold out.

Red Hot Chili Peppers


Red Hot Chili Peppers have sold more than 60 million albums, including five multi-platinum LPs, and won six Grammy Awards including Best Rock Album for Stadium Arcadium, Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group and Best Rock Song for Scar Tissue.

After declining an offer to perform with Lady Gaga, Die Antwoord opted to rather open for the Chili Peppers during their tour in South Africa.

Rodriquez - Live in South Africa

A local folk hero and the voice of South African liberal resistance during apartheid, Rodriquez is on his way back "home" to entertain his biggest fans.

After rumours that Rodriguez had committed suicide, two South African fans set out on a journey to find out what really happened to their hero. This eventually led to the making of a documentary called Searching For Sugar Man which achieved great success at this year's Sundance Festival in Utah.

Metallica - Live in South Africa

Is it Metallica? Yes it is! Then came the overpowering fist pumps from fans all over South Africa at the news that Metallica will be heading to South Africa in April 2013.

Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo collectively known as Metallica, are one of the most influential and commercially successful rock bands in history, having sold 110 million albums worldwide and playing to millions of fans the world over. They will rock it out in South Africa next year.

This will be the band's second visit to SA, after they previously attended the Coke Fest in 2006.

Bon Jovi - Because We Can World Tour


Bon Jovi fans will now be able to sing along to Always, You Give Love A Bad Name and It's My Life live in a stadium!

Bringing their signature brand of rock 'n roll back to the people, Bon Jovi will hit the road in 2013 to fill stadiums and arenas worldwide, and South Africa is part of their itinerary.

The tour will also debut songs from their new album What About Now.
