Linkin Park fans ready to party

Cape Town – Many Linkin Park fans have shown their excitement at the announcement that the group is set to perform in South Africa in November.

The rock band was announced as the mystery band that is set to tour South Africa by 5fm's DJ Fresh on Monday.

Reader, Charné Bresendale, was over the moon after she heard the news: "I can't wait for ticket sales to open and will go anywhere in the country just to be at this concert Linkin Park You Rock My World.

"Linkin Park is the ultimate! You can relate to their music, words and screams. You feel it deep within your soul.

"Words you cannot express, feelings that have no outlet and emotions that are bottled up…you can just let go," added Charné.

Another fan, Kevin, showed the same spirit as Charné but was critical of one of the group's albums.

"I am elated. I just hope no songs are played from A Thousand Suns ," Kevin said.

Still can't wait

"Love me some rock!I got my ticket for Lady Gaga. Now for Linkin Park. But please, please bring Aerosmith to SA," begged another reader, Annelize.

William Maseloane was less enthusiastic but still excited nevertheless.

"A bit too late... Still can't wait," he said.

Another reader Brett added, “Why did it take them so long to get here?"

"From the moment I started writing poetry I got introduced to LP's music, I fell in love and I've been a fan ever sinse, it's exciting to know one of my ultimate favourite bands will be on home grounds very soon, I can't wait to see them live," a nostalgic Knasi wrote.

Other readers were not so excited about the band’s visit and instead wished for other groups to come to our shores.

Whoever it is upstairs organising these events

"Don't get me wrong, Linkin Park in SA is huge and I'm glad it will be happening.

"Surely if this can be organised, then it would be possible for blink 182 to tour SA as well.

"Hopefully this can be made possible by whoever it is upstairs organising these events," wrote Kyle.

Schilder Auburn rebuffed Kyle's view and instead wished all South Africans could be happy the group is coming to the country.

"I hear your grief but for me as a SA citizen not being able to afford travelling abroad and having the opportunity to see Linkin Park perform live, ever. I really appreciate the fact that 5fm and Big Concerts are bringing them here," he wrote.

Linkin Park mania was compounded by Trevor Moseley's statement who wrote:

"I am a young 57 year -old fan who is extremely excited to having them here."
