Oppikoppi Bewilderbeast line-up
The 19th annual Oppikoppi Bewilderbeast will be kicking up the dust from 8 August till the werebeasts start howling, and with a selection of over a 100 acts, it is understandable if you start off your fest with absolute confusion over which stage to go to first. So to get you over your Oppi stage fright, here are some bands we think are a definite must see!

And if you're one of the many unlucky prawns to be missing out this year, Channel24 will be covering the whole weekend - so just check in for interviews, photos and videos of all the Bewilderbeast shenanigans. Which might make you feel better. Or cry more.

Oppikoppi Stages:

Skellum Stage (SS)
Wesley's Dome Stage (WD)
James Philips Main Stage (JPM)
Bruilof Stage (BS)
Ray-Ban Top Stage (RBT)
Red Bull Stage (RB)

Thursday 8 August

15:00 SS - No Chocolate Before Dinner
Branding themselves as 'Pop Chunk', this punk band has some mad tunes to get you jumping.

17:00 BS - Die See
Some smooth Afrikaans melodies with a sexy guitar. What more do you want?

19:00 WD - Straatligkinders
After a long hiatus, the popular Bouwer Bosch band is back and their new music is pretty Oppi-tastic.

21:00 RBT - Shortstraw Unplugged
This indie band has gotten a lot of airplay with Good Morning, Sunshine, and would be awesome to watch unplugged.

23:00 BS - Vana & The Oh So Serious
If you are in the mood for some blues and folk, head to the Bruilof Stage for some good ol' country loving.

01:00 WSD - Fokofpolisiekar
The South African rock legends are always one of the best live shows to see, and who knows how many shows they still have left in them?

Friday 9 August

12:00 WD - Woodstock Mafia
The grunge band just finished their new album, which you can pre-order on their website, and sounds like they would be a blast.

14:00 WD - Red Huxley
Red Huxley got a big break recently when they went to the US to record an album with David Catching from Eagles of Death Metal, so they probably got lots of tips from the veteran rocker.

17:00 RB - Christian Tiger School
With a genre like 'dream hip hop' you can expect some experimental beats which will put you into a Oppi chill.

19:00 SS - Matthew Mole
The first SA muso to top SA's iTunes charts has to be on your must-see list and this one-man band will leave you absolutely in love.

21:00 RB - DJ Naaldekoker
After a successful collaboration with Jack Parow, DJ Naaldekoker is doing his own thing, and owning it.

23:00 JP - Tumi
00:00 WD - Bittereinder
01:00 JPM - Jack Parow
Interestingly these three acts collaborated on hip hop song A Tale of Three Cities where each one sang about their respective cities - and they follow each other at Oppikoppi. Here you get a taste of three bands in one video.

Saturday 10 August

14:00 BS - Rambling Bones
These 'misfit borther & sisters' throw down some soul ramblings and are pretty good at it.

16:00 JPM - Jeremy Loops
The energetic tunes of modern folk muso Jeremy Loops will get you on your feet and jamming.

18:00 JPM - Robert DeLong
One man electro band hailing from America will be showing us South Africans how to dance.

20:00 SS - ISO
ISO's heaven is an epic music video and would also not disappoint as a live act. Do not miss!

22:00 JPM - Yellowcard
One of the headlining international acts, Yellowcard will take us back to our high school days of Ocean Avenue.

23:00 WD - Deftones
What better way to end Oppi than with metal gods Deftones? DO NOT MISS THEM!

If there are other bands that you think that Oppi festival goers shouldn't miss out on, comment with a link to their work.
