The Bieber Product

Justin Bieber Cape Town
Cape Town - One kid. 55 000 screaming fans. I don't know how this happened, but it did.

I've been a Belieber since 2009. Last night I recited all the words to all his songs verbatim. I'm a complete and utter fangirl.

Leading up to his performance in Cape Town, little girls, aged between 6 and 10, were perched atop their dads' shoulders, screaming their lungs out.

Two little ones in pink wigs stood out while a gaggle of girls nearby sang Baby for their parents and onlookers. So sweet. I yearned for their endless energy and crazed sugar high.

BAM! Bieber's here. The kid star did not disappoint.

This massive production is tailored every step of the way, from the countdown key to the hype-boy at the end of the show. It's all wrapped up in a shiny purple bow and we were all chomping at the bit to unwrap it.

My 19-year-old crush danced his ass off, sang his heart out and delivered a show worth every cent of the ticket price. Fireworks, video interludes, impressive lighting, confetti and... then he took his shirt off!

Biebs has been working hard on his abs for months now, as his Twitter feed suggests, and I say "You go boy!"

My favourite part? When he grabbed the camera, panned across the crowd then pointed it at himself and sang for us in a close-up we only dream of. GAH!

Thanks, Justin. Thanks for being on time. Thanks for singing for real and not lip-synching, even if your voice was lost at times underneath the heavy bass. Thanks for improving your dancing since the Baby video. Thanks for coming all the way out here.

Most of all, thanks for being you despite all the haters.

I've never been shy of my Belieber status and now I'm even prouder.
