Main purpose of the Job

24.Com Editorial, a division within 24.Com centered in Greenpoint Cape Town, currently has a vacancy for a Music Editor: 24.com who, reporting to the Entertainment Editor: 24.com, will be responsible and accountable for the 24.com Music site on 24.com Entertainment.

Job Outputs

:: Managing, developing and growing a Music site for 24.com Entertainment.
:: Building 24.com Music into the market leader in SA online music sites.
:: Contributing to the growth of 24.com Entertainment Skills and Competencies

:: Writing and editorial skills
:: Knowledge of music in all genres, particularly South African music
:: Skills required to review music authoritatively
:: Familiarity with regional SA music scenes
:: Ability to coordinate, delegate, and share workload as well as administer the running of the music website as part of 24.com Entertainment
:: Skills required to forge partnerships in order to generate content for 24.com Music
:: Interest in, and knowledge of, multimedia and the internet
:: Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
:: Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
:: PC / MS Office literacy important

Qualifications and Experience

::Post-Matric qualification in Media Studies or a related discipline essential.
:: Portfolio of published work in the area of music
::English and at least one other South African language.
