Nelly Furtado is reportedly pregnant with her second child says Bang Showbiz. The 'Maneater' singer is said to be thrilled after discovering she’s expecting a baby with sound engineer fiancé Demacio Castellon. The singer also recently revealed she once turned down a $500,000 offer to pose nude in Playboy. The star admitted she was flattered when Playboy's boss Hugh Hefner approached her, but declined because she wants her future lovers to have something to look forward to. She said: “It was tempting. It almost plays on your vanity. But I like to save a little bit for the bedroom. It's something to be preserved, a little bit for yourself. But that's not to say that I would never do it. Lark bows out in style
One of Mzansi’s best live acts, Lark has decided to call it quits after five years together. Producer and sound designer, Paul Ressel has decided to move to Germany. Paul plays a particularly pivotal role in the band’s operations so they’ve decided to just part ways. Vocalist Inge Beckman says: “The past couple of years have been quite a ride, but I look back on everything we’ve done with a sense of satisfaction and pride in being involved in such a pioneering project and having been able to have the opportunity to perform on the variety of stages that we have. We wish Paul all the best in his endeavors; it’s been an absolute pleasure to have worked with him and the rest of the band.” Lark’s final performance in Johannesburg will be at the 88 Lounge in Norwood. McKnight to give Mzansi a night to remember
Even though it will be exactly a month after Valentine’s Day, it’s better late than never. Yummy R&B crooner Brian McKnight is coming down to Mzansi for the Love Night Tour on 14 March at the Coca Cola Dome in Johannesburg. He’ll then move on to Cape Town on 16 March and finally in Durbs on the 19th of March. The multi-instrumentalists - (McKnight plays nine instruments: piano, guitar, bass guitar, drums, percussions, trombone, tuba, French horn and trumpet) will have our very own R&B star Loyiso as the opening act. Word is upcoming artist Ofentse will be in the mix too. Watch this space.
Is JT getting hitched soon?
According to Bang Showbiz, Justin Timberlake is planning to propose to girlfriend Jessica Biel. The 'SexyBack' singer was seen shopping for engagement rings at famous New York jewellery store, Tiffany and Co. Justin and Jessica Biel have been dating for over a year now. "Justin was really taking his time looking round the rings. He made the staff get a couple out of the cabinets so he could properly look at them. He didn't buy anything but told the manager he would think about it," revealed a source. Jessica recently revealed she and Justin much prefer snuggling up with the board game Scrabble than going out drinking and dancing. When Justin appeared on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show', he refused to talk about 25-year-old Jessica. He did reveal that he is dating someone and said “all I can tell you is she smells lovely!” Well sisters, now you know what drives JT crazy.
Selota weds again
Meanwhile back home Afro-jazz muso, Selaelo Selota is married again reports Sunday World. Selota married his sweetheart of three years, Tandiswa Selota, on 9 December last year. Tandiswa (not Bongo Maffin lead Thandiswa Mazwai) is from Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. Selota and Sephuma acrimoniously divorced in 2003, citing irreconcilable differences. Selaelo confirmed saying, “Yes I’m happily married, though my personal life has nothing to do with the media. My wife is not in the music industry.” Selota declined to explain where he met Tandiswa, but said, “She is not someone I met at the SAMA’s or at a gig. “All I will say is that I met her in Gauteng” he added.
No more Zombo
Once popular Kwaito star Tebogo Ndlovu aka Zombo, has died after a long illness reports the Sowetan. The former Abashante band member died on Saturday of HIV/AIDS related illness. Zombo publicly disclosed his HIV status during an exclusive interview with Sunday World newspaper. He discovered he was living with the HIV virus last year. Two weeks ago he accused Mafokate on national television of not intervening earlier. However, he also thanked his former boss for starting a benefit fund for him. Mafokate was first to arrive at Zombo’s home in Alexandra to show support to the family. Arthur The funeral will held on Saturday. The Star newspaper also reports that Arthur said his recording company will pay for the funeral. Eish mara, it’s shocking that another muso bites the dust broke in Mzansi today.

Afro pop singer Queen “Iyaya” Seseko has poured her heart out. Thank God she’s not exposing any private parts of her anatomy this time around. Sunday World reports that she revealed that she tried to commit suicide while she was pregnant with Owami, kwaito star Arthur Mafokate’s baby. Queen was involved with the 999 Music boss and kwaito king back in the 90s. She says her relationship with Arthur wasn’t as rosy as it seemed. Iyaya says she took an overdose of tablets to try to escape her misery. “When I took the pills my mother was with me and told me I was crazy and that I’d never die. After I took the pills she rushed me to hospital,” says Seseko. The doctors worked hard to save her unborn baby’s life. Arthur and Queen’s romance was passionate; he even bought Queen a car. The relationship soured and Arthur kicked Queen out of their home after Owami was born because she was messing around with his bodyguard. Eish, it’s a real shame now because Queen has missed out on raising her little girl.
R.Kelly still bumpin’ & grindin’ with young girls
We all know the R in R&B, Robert Kelly, sees nothing wrong with a little bump ‘n grind. After all, the man married late R&B princess Aaliyah, when she was just sixteen years old. MTV.com reports that when R. Kelly's long time publicist Regina Daniels announced her resignation last November, she didn't specify her reasons except to say that the singer had “crossed a line.” Now, the publicist's husband, music retailer George Daniels, who had also worked with Kelly, has disclosed why. Daniels confirmed that Kelly's relationship with the couple's daughter caused them to cut ties with the controversial singer who’s currently awaiting trial on child-pornography charges. George Daniels allegedly expressed outrage on a radio station that R. Kelly was “like a son” to him and his wife, and getting into a secret relationship with his 21-year-old daughter, Maxine - who has known Kelly since she was 7 years old was a betrayal. Maxine’s father says she was lured away from her studies by Kelly's expensive gifts, which included a car. “When a child is side-tracked, when a child is persuaded to lie, to go against her parents' wishes, that'll turn anybody,” he said. Eish R.Kelly really needs help but this girl is an adult as well.
