Bala bliksemed by restaurant staff
R&B crooner Zwai Bala got more than he bargained for when he was moered in a Mellville restaurant by the owner this past week, reports the Sunday World. But that was only the start of the humiliation – Bala was then also pelted with a paintball gun. Bala says the restaurant owner became hostile towards him after he questioned a 10% tip that was added to his bill. The owner then allegedly started punching him and swearing at him. "I couldn’t just stand there and watch him hitting me. I had to defend myself," explained Bala. But it didn’t end there. Bala says the blows to his body were soon followed by "bullets" from a paintball gun. "While I was still standing there, the barman took out something that looked like a real gun and shot at me." Bala says the shots were not only painful but left him looking like a clown. "I had paint all over my face. I was a laughing stock," he says. According to the restaurant manager, Sihle Ngubane, who was on duty that night, the incident was sparked by Zwai’s "drunken diva behaviour". Bala was admitted to the trauma unit with bruising. The smooth singer has a squeaky clean image, compared to his former TKZee bandmates. So who’s the real instigator in this clash?
