DJ Chilli M in rehab
Beleaguered YFM DJ Chilli M has checked himself into a rehab facility after he was suspended from the youth station, reports Page3Report. The host of the popular afternoon drive time show, The Essential Rush, has been off air since he unleashed a verbal tirade against the shows' producer, Dineo, live on air. A source close to the station says after the on-air drama, Chilli M was given an option of resigning, getting fired or cleaning up his act. The DJ choose the later option and went into rehab. YFM chief executive, Kathan Pillay, released a statement saying the station is supporting Chilli M, whether he is in rehab or not. "The fact of the matter is that Chilli M has been working Essential Rush non-stop since April 2006. During this time, he has turned the Essential Rush into YFM’s biggest show, with more than 600 000 listeners tuning in every week." Pillay adds that as employers, the station has their responsibility not to reveal details about Chilli M’s whereabouts. "So even if it was true that Chilli is in a rehab, and I am not saying he is, we as YFM would not be able to comment on this." There are no reports that Chilli M has any substance abuse problems, so what could he possibly be getting up to in rehab? Anger management, perhaps?
