Pitch Black Afro arrested
Big-haired hip-hop star Pitch Black Afro, real name Thulani Ngcobo, is a lucky man, even though it wouldn’t seem so after the star was arrested following an altercation with police, reports Sunday World. Ngcobo apparently was arrested police at a routine roadblock and thrown into police holding cells. He spent the night in a cell at Johannesburg Central police station and was released the next day. According to a source, the singer started a fight when the cops told him his car was a deathtrap and not roadworthy. "He took offence and caused a scene, so they arrested him," says the source. He says the star resisted arrest. "They managed to overpower him. He was taken to the police holding cells in Jozi," says the informant. When the singer was confronted at the Joburg Magistrates' Court he denied the incident. When asked what he was doing in court, he replied that he was "fixing something". He was scheduled to appear in court on charges of interfering with police duties and resisting arrest. But Pitch Black caught a lucky break and the charges were withdrawn. Pitch Black has been absent from the kwaito scene since the release of Split Endz two years ago. Also the idea that the scrawny rapper would try to take on the cops is weird and a little comical.
