What killed Isaac Hayes…
Isaac Hayes died of a stroke, officials announced earlier this week. The iconic soul singer was found dead at his Memphis home last Sunday. But until now the cause of his death has remained a mystery. Though there was no autopsy, the cause of death was given as a stroke in paperwork filed by Hayes' family physician. The doctor had reportedly been treating Hayes for high blood pressure. Paramedics found Hayes after responding to a 911 call. The 65-year-old was lying on the floor next to an active treadmill. This was not the first time Hayes has suffered a stroke, suffering one in early 2006 as well. The singer was best known for his work on the Shaft soundtrack, for which he won an Academy Award. He also voiced the character Chef on the controversial animated series South Park. News of Hayes’ death came soon after the death of comedian Bernie Mac the day before. Incidentally, the last film project both stars were involved in was the same one, a movie called Soul Men, co-starring Samuel L. Jackson. Two tragic, massive losses for the entertainment industry in such a short time…
