L’vovo involved in Car accident
Two people died in a fatal car accident on Sunday. Durban-based kwaito sensation L’vovo Derango and artist manager Zakes Matiti were one of the passengers. Dj Buddha and Sello Mohlala died instantly while L’vovo and Matiti were badly injured. Derrango went for surgery on Monday and is currently recovering at a Springs private clinic. The four were on their way to OR Tambo International Airport to catch a late flight to Durban, after performing at the Delmas 100 Celebrations Music festival. RGB reported that L’vovo is recovering well after undergoing surgery and should be back on stage soon! People please buckle up!

Cry Baby
Gwen Stefani was seen sobbing uncontrollably backstage at her own fashion show recently. The singer was reduced to tears before showcasing her new L.A.M.B collection at New York fashion week last Wednesday, after recalling memories of creating clothes with her mother. When asked what was wrong she just said she was so overwhelmed. She talked about how she used to sew with her mother and now she has realized her dream as an adult, who has her own baby. Gwen and her rock star husband Gavin Rossdale have a 15-month old son, Kingston. Stefani recently admitted she’s become jealous of Kingston's close relationship with his father. She said: "Kingston is super into his dad right now and I'm a little, well, 'What about me?' Oh just stop it now Gwen! Just let the boys bond, you’ll have your turn.

The rise and rise of Alicia Keys
Nine-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys returns with her long-awaited third studio album, As I Am set for a worldwide release on November 13 on J Records. Her first single, “No One,” became one of the fastest moving and highest charting single on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. On As I Am Alicia once again captures an old-school vibe and makes if feel refreshingly new with an album she describes as “Janis Joplin meets Aretha Franklin”. It doesn’t’ look like Ms Keys will be ‘fallin’ anytime soon! Keep it up girl!

DJ Sbu at it again!
Well you all certainly loved Wilens Vol. 1, the album that spawned the SAMA song of the year and massive hit 'Remember When It Rained'. Now DJ Sbu's hoping you'll embrace his second offering Wilens Vol. 2 which will be out on the 22nd of September through his label TS Records. The Ukhozi FM breakfast host says you should "Expect the same formula of soulful house grooves, nice melodies, sing along tunes and samples”. Some of the tracks sampled include 'Lovin You' by Minnie Ripperton, Anita Baker's 'No More Tears’ and the lead single is a track by Senegalese singer Ismael Lo. "I also sampled track number 13 off Nhlanhla’s album." Eish Sbu is just not budging hey! The man is sticking to making his dough by sampling and remixing old hits. And Mzansi fans just love him anyway!

James Blunt is terrified of dying
The British singer, who is a former army officer, claims he is so scared of dying it keeps him awake at night, and his irrational fear manifests itself in his music. He says he often lies awake at night staring at the ceiling. The singer also insists he doesn't write music for his fans but for himself. You don’t say! He said: “I do this for myself, If there was no audience, I'd still be a musician, I'd still be writing songs, because that's what I do.” He owns a luxury villa on the party island of Ibiza and he's learning to speak Spanish. He says: "I can only say two things in Spanish, 'tienes un condon' (Do you have condoms) and 'cosquillee mis pelotas' (tickle my balls). Well no surprise there! The two phrases are certainly useful for Blunt, who is fast earning a reputation as a womanizer. He’s been romantically linked to a string of famous beauties, including Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, and Paris Hilton. Ag shame, sisters are still falling for the “You’re beautiful” line.

No tears for McCartney
Sir Paul McCartney wants people to laugh at his funeral. The Beatles legend is keen for his friends and family to celebrate his life rather than mourn him when he dies. McCartney said: "At my funeral, I want jokes to be told and old funny stories rolled out.” McCartney, currently embroiled in a bitter divorce with Heather Mills, says he’s able to forget his troubles whenever he plays the guitar. He said: “I play the guitar for my own enjoyment, its therapeutic. You just sit there playing and you're taken to another world.” Yes, divorce is no joke, but it’s really not the end of the world.

JT embarrasses mommy
Justin Timberlake embarrassed his mother by kissing girlfriend Jessica Biel, in front of her after Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards. The 'SexyBack' singer celebrated being named Best Male Artist at the ceremony by going for dinner at Tableau restaurant in Las Vegas with Biel and his mom Lynn. Justin couldn't keep his hands off Jessica, despite the presence of his embarrassed mother. A fellow diner revealed, "They were kissing and being so lovey-dovey, in front of Justin's mom." Come now what could be worse than nipplegate? It was just a public display of bringing sexy back ma!! But Eish, JT when are you going to learn?

Goldfish Shoot For The Airwaves Of The World
Electronic duo Goldfish have been hard at work in this third quarter of 2007: touring Europe, Los Angeles, recording an album and now getting incredible airplay on BBC’s Radio 1 in the UK! International DJ and producer Pete Tong played Goldfish’s track, “The Real Deal” during his show on Radio 1 in the UK a couple of weeks ago, labelling the track “fantastic”. Tong’s show is one of the most listened to shows at Radio 1 both live and on-line with millions of listeners weekly around the globe. Goldfish have been extremely busy in their Cape Town studio, preparing their follow up to Caught In The Loop. This kind of international kudos is just what they need to become a true international band. The new album is to be released in February 2008. Watch this space…
