New Porn to support Rolling Stones
Earlier this month, Arno Carstens and his solo career outfit New Porn gave a remarkable and clearly very convincing performance at the massive UK festival Isle Of Wight. Since then, and very probably as a result, they have been booked to be the main support act for The Rolling Stones this Saturday night (June 23rd) in San Sebastian, Spain at the Estadio De Anoeta. They will be the last act on stage before the Rolling Stones perform. “This is historic for a South African musician" says Paul Thackwray of Sony BMG. "We hope the benefit it will bring will uplift our country, our music industry and our musicians.”

Eminem tells all…yet again
Eminem is releasing a new album and has apparently dedicated more than one track to divulging intimate details of his alleged brief affair with Mariah Carey. Mariah has always denied the affair. However, word on the street is that she approached L.A. Reid, the head of her record label Island Def Jam, begging him to intervene. Nothing can be done to stop Slim Shady as his right to freedom of speech is his ever-convenient defence.

Homeless Hit-maker
City Press reports that Brenda Fassie’s son, Bongani Fassie, is broke as his mother's house was repossessed to pay off her bills. Bongani, who is best known for his production skills and as member of the hit group Jozi, is said to be living at the offices of his record label. Ag shame, seems Brenda's drama will follow Bongani for some time to come.

It's not Johnny, it's Dr. Clegg
The "white Zulu" has received a honorary degree from Wits University. Johnny, er... Dr. Clegg is no stranger to the halls of Wits, he earned his BA (Hons) in social anthropology there and went on to teach there before his music career took off.

Kelly Clarkson fail to sell tickets
The singer recently announced that she had called off her August 18 Jones Beach concert and will not be continuing with her US summer tour, after failing to fill the 15,000-seat venues. The day before the announcement she had parted ways with her manager, The Firm's Jeff Kwatinetz. Kelly is also said to be squabbling with BMG chairman Clive Davis over her third album My December. Christina Aguilera has a baby bump!
The “Dirty” singer will have to clean up her act because rumour has it she discovered she was nine weeks pregnant early this month. Both her and hubby Jordan are ecstatic about the news. On June 7, the two (or should we say three) were seen leaving New York's Maternal Foetal Medicine Association.

Ringo Starr still shining
Starr has signed a deal to release his solo material online. The former Beatles catalogue - including hit albums Beacoups of Blues and Ringo - will be available to download from August 28. Starr is set to release his new solo album Liverpool 8 next January. Earlier this year, Starr's former band-mate Sir Paul McCartney signed a deal with Apple to release his own solo back catalogue online.

50 Cent is set to make $100 million.
50 Cent is about to become significantly richer after Coca-Cola bought his Vitamin Water drink, Formula 50. Coke has just paid drinks company Glaceau, an astounding $4.1 billion. 50 joined Glaceau as a shareholder in 2004. In exchange for his share in the company's profits, Glaceau named a Vitamin Water drink, Formula 50, after the rapper. Seems 50 is not just all talk, he really lives by his 'Get Rich or Die Tryin' motto.

Amy Winehouse says Dolly Parton's look is "cool".
Would you believe that the “Rehab” singer’s favourite style icon is Dolly Parton? She says she is impressed by the rumours that Parton “wakes up every day four hours before her husband to put on her face. Four hours! I think that's cool.” We think we understand why they wanna take her to rehab.

Radebe’s coolest fans
The Kaiser Chiefs were the closing act at the O2 Wireless festival in London's Hyde Park. They charmed the crowd with their contagious hits and everyone loved them. If you’re wondering about their name and if they're local, they’re not. We asked around and apparently they were all such big fans of Lucas Radebe that they named their band after his former club.

In this week's column - New Porn headlines for The Rolling Stones, Eminem talks about his secret affair with Mariah Carey and Bongani Fassie is without a home.
