Don’t know your name but excuse me Miss
Chris Brown has a crush! The smooth RnB singer is in South Africa and is apparently quickly discovering how lekker our local is. Word is spreading all over the States and South Africa that Chris Brown tried to pull a move on South Africa’s Paris Hilton, Khanyi Mbau! Khanyi, however, was not interested in Chris and his award winning moves. She says that when he approached her at a recent TV show launch, she “tried to pull away but his grip was just too tight”. It took Khanyi’s manager to get Chris to back off. Not surprisingly, Rihanna (Chris’ current GIRLFRIEND) is not at all impressed with these rumours. But we are!

Niki Richie Preggies
Nicole Richie shocked celeb-watchers at a party in Beverly Hills recently when she decided not to get pissed. Yep, Lionel’s libidinous little girl actually opted for an alcohol-free evening! Hmm, is she ‘with child’? Yep, it’s been confirmed that she and Joel Madden are going to have baby. The two have been dating for six months and according to In Touch, they are due to be married by summer. Nicole still faces charges from her arrest late last year, when she was found stoned while driving the wrong way on a highway. Let’s hope she invests in a state-of-the-art baby car-seat!

Lindsay Lohan Let Loose
It was Lindsay’s 21st birthday the other day and Promises Rehab Centre let her out to play. Big mistake? Surprisingly not. Looks like the legendary party girl kept it low key and rented a beach house where she invited close friends and family round for a quiet celebration. Her dad however, was not invited. According to, Lindsay’s lawyer informed her estranged father that even a gift would be considered harassment. And just in case you’re wondering…no, there was reportedly no alcohol or illegal substances at the party with Lindsay safely back in her rehab centre bed by 2.30 am. Seems now that she’s finally legal, so is her behaviour. Go figure!

Pete Doherty’s existential options: jail, rehab or dog-house
Bad boy British indie-rocker Pete Doherty took the phrase arriving ‘fashionably late’ too far on Tuesday when he failed to turn up on time for his latest court case. He was so late, in fact, that the judge issued a warrant for his arrest. When he did eventually turn up, poor old Pete pleaded guilty to the drug charges against him. His options: rehab or jail. Unlike Amy Winehouse he didn’t say ‘no’ to rehab. Right, sounds like business as usual for the indie-rock re-habituate then? Not quite. Other hassles he has to handle are of a more domestic nature. Doherty was recently spotted “kissing and cuddling” with a South African model called Lindy at London’s Crystal nightclub. Word has it that Pete’s current on-off girlfriend Kate Moss is so distressed that she took herself to Paris (the city, not Hilton) to calm down.

Blood Money setting the standard
Prestigious American producer Rae Dileo is recording with a new rock band. They’re Proudly South African - or at least we’re proud to say they’re South African. Imagine the melody of U2 coupled with the power of Audioslave and the stage presence of Led Zeppelin…and you’ve got some ideas of where Tim Kroon (vocals), Garth McLeod (drums), Lorne McGregor (guitar), Gavin Wienand (bass) are on the South African modern rock map. Whether a producer who’s twiddled the knobs for Filter, Veruca Salt and um, Billy Idol is the ideal man to guarantee Blood Money becomes the next Seether is debatable. Still, let’s wait for the album which is due to hit the shelves soon.
